The following are organizations, institutions and societies that provide resources for the grieving and bereaved. Anyone who has lost a parent, child, friend or relative may find comfort and help with these organizations.
Judi’s House
At Judi’s House, children and teens ages 3-24 have the opportunity to participate in peer-based support groups with children their own age who have had similar experiences relating to death loss. Judi’s House is working with Valley of Life to provide A Guide to Children and Grief to their participants.
Association of Death Education and Counseling (ADEC)
One of the oldest interdisciplinary organizations in the field of dying, death and bereavement. Its nearly 2,000 members include a wide array of mental and medical health personnel, educators, clergy, funeral directors and volunteers.
CMI Education Institute, Inc.
A non-profit organization committed to providing high-quality education and training for health care professionals, counseling professionals and the general public on topics related to palliative care, mental health, grief and bereavement, serious illness, loss and/or other subjects of interest to healthcare and mental health professionals, and all persons working with those who are grieving and/or suffering from physical or mental illness.
Cruse Bereavement Care (UK)
Promotes the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss.
GriefShare
Holds seminars and support groups led by people who understand what you are going through. The faith-based organization provides resources to help others recover from loss and move forward rebuilding their life.
